south florida gardening guides

A simple bench can be constructed from driftwood and two concrete blocks if your heart desires. Some areas have a short growing season but you can get a jump-start before summer is here by starting your own seedlings.

A quality potting mix that can retain water is a good choice when planting; you can even enhance your soil with water storing crystals. You may choose to have a slightly lower hedge lining a walkway. By creating a planting calendar, reading the seed packets, and checking gardening catalogs you can determine how well each plant will do with any type of frost.

So not only will you get the joy of looking at the butterflies, but the gorgeous flowers as well. If the plant needs direct sunlight it may be more difficult to bring in rather than a plant that just needs partial light. You will be able to have a continued harvest for the entire season and get your time and moneys worth out of your garden.

Before spring get's here, get things preped and ready to go. And remember, birds are a great addition to your garden.
