There are some general techniques for pruning and then there are specific techniques for the types of plants, shrubs, or trees that require pruning. When you want your plant to grow in a particular direction, size or shape you want to prune it.

Those of you who grow indoor plants know their fundamental requirements. If cool season grasses do not receive sufficient water, they will go dormant and their foliage will turn brown. These flowers generally produce the maximum bang for your dollar.

So not only will you get the joy of looking at the butterflies, but the gorgeous flowers as well. You can start with one or two herbs of your choosing or troughs with several different types along with edible flowers. The plants or flowers are also very nice to look at, but an added bonus is if you use decorative pots.

By taking all of these steps and a little tender loving care you should have yourself a wonderful array of fresh, quality vegetables. Remember that some plants or bushes will take longer to develop, so you can fill in with other nectar bearing plants.
